31 years has passed since the multi-state Powerball Lottery began in 1992.
How much did the Mid-Michigan Powerball winner score?
The jackpot for this drawing, with all ticket sales included, was $842.4 Million. That makes it the fifth-largest jackpot every won with Powerball.
According to ABC12, this is the second largest jackpot ever, to be won, in Michigan. The number one jackpot was $1.05 billion (Mega Millions) won by a group of Novi teachers in 2021.
Where was the New Year's Day winning Powerball ticket sold?
Grand Blanc Township's Food Castle / Marathon Gas station at Dort Hwy and Grand Blanc Road sold the winning ticket.
The current winner has one year to come forward to claim their prize on January 01, 2025. The winning numbers were 12-21-42-44-49 with the Powerball number: 01.
Seems fitting for the Powerball to be "01" with a January 1 drawing and winner.
No winner has come forward.
So far, the winner has not come forward to present their ticket to claim their winnings. If you know a regular player, reach out to ask if they've checked their numbers.
If chosen as a lump-sum cash payout, the amount becomes approximately $425 million. Which amounts to around $300 million after taxes.
