A Tense Night for Students Sheltering in Place

The incident happened Thursday evening, when police were called to reports of a fight outside VanWagoner House. A man, who police say is not an Oakland University student, was stabbed multiple times and taken to McLaren Hospital. His condition has not been released.

An alert was sent out to students and staff just after 8:25 last night, warning of a suspect still at large. Campus police spent several hours searching before announcing late Thursday that they believed it was safe for most of the university to return to normal operations. The lockdown remained in place at VanWagoner House during the investigation.
Lockdown Lifted, Investigation Still Ongoing
Police are still looking for two men believed to be involved, who were last seen leaving the area in a dark-colored SUV. Anyone with information is urged to contact Oakland University Police.
