Nicki Minaj Off the Hook In Detroit Assault Investigation
Rapper Nicki Minaj has avoided criminal charges after an alleged altercation with her manager at a Michigan concert venue last year.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office declined to issue an arrest warrant after her former manager, Brandon Garrett, accused Minaj of assault backstage at Little Caesars Arena after her concert appearance in April 2024.
What is Nick Minaj Accused of?
The lawsuit alleges a heated confrontation between Minaj and Garrett, claiming Minaj struck the man on the head and made threatening remarks after he delegated collection of the singer's prescriptions to another team member.

Garrett claims the altercation caused him to seek refuge in a bathroom at the arena for hours our of concern for his own safety.
Although Minaj appears to have cleared criminal charges, Garrett's civil suit against the rapper is still active, according to The Lagos Review.
Minaj's Legal Team Builds Defense
Judd Burstein is Nicki Manaj's attorney. He says her team has characterized the incident as "completely false and frivolous." He remains confident that the matter would be solved in Minaj's favor.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says there is lack of evidence to issue a warrant. However, the Detroit Police Department says there has been a request for further investigation into the matter, according to WJBK-TV.
