U.S. News recently did some research to find the "Most Popular Dog Breed in Each State", and interestingly enough, Americans are pretty set in their ways with their choice of dogs.

According to the gang at U.S. News, the most popular pup in Michigan is the Golden Retriever.  Developed in Scotland in the nineteenth century by Sir Dudley Marjoribanks, the breed is characterized by a gentle and affectionate nature which makes it the perfect family dog. As a matter of fact, the Golden Retriever is the top pick for the top breed in 14 states across the country.
