If you've ever thought, “You know what would make this party better? Sparty,” I've got good news... you can actually make that happen.

MSU's 'Sparty' is a Very Busy Mascot

Michigan State's famous mascot makes more than 500 appearances a year, including weddings, birthday parties, graduations and other celebrations. But Sparty is a busy guy. Requests have to be submitted at least two months ahead, and MSU usually won't confirm an appearance until about a month before the event.

And don't bother trying to book him for a football Saturday. Those dates are pretty much a no-go. If Sparty does show up, you've got him for a maximum of 45 minutes.

Michigan State Sparty Appearance Prices

For most private celebrations, including birthdays, graduations, anniversaries and showers, the price is $500 plus travel. Corporate events and rehearsal dinners are $1,000, while a wedding will set you back $1,500, plus travel.

Nonprofits and MSU departments get a break at $300, registered student organizations pay $250, and you can even get a Sparty shoutout for 100 bucks.

Sparty Can Wear a Tux

And here's a fun little bonus for the newlyweds: Sparty normally shows up in his famous green armor, but for weddings, he can actually wear a tux. The money helps pay for the Sparty Mascot Program, including uniforms, travel, cleaning and repairs.
