$4M Win Leaves Michigan Woman Frozen in Kroger Parking Lot
A quick stop at Kroger turned into a life-changing moment for a Michigan woman who scratched off a $4 million win and sat frozen in her car, stunned by the shock of it all.
The Oakland County woman says she plays instant games all the time but was truly shocked when she realized she'd won the top prize on the Lottery's Electric 300s game.
Frozen in Her Car in the Kroger Parking Lot
“I play scratch-off tickets all the time and the $30 tickets are my favorite,” said the 77-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous. “I scratched the ticket in my car in the store parking lot when I was done shopping. When I saw I won $4 million, I was frozen in my seat for a while.”

She added that her husband was also surprised by the big win and says they’re keeping the news to themselves for now.
“I told my husband when I got home, and he had a hard time believing it even after looking the ticket over. We haven’t told anyone about our big win, but plan to surprise our family with the news soon!”
What a $4M Lottery Win Really Pays Out in Michigan
How much does a Michigan Lottery player actually take home on a $4 million winning ticket? In this case, the woman opted for annual payments of about $133,000 for the next 30 years instead of a $2.7 million lump sum. She purchased her ticket at the Kroger store on Highland Avenue in Milford and says she plans to use the money for home repairs, donate to causes she cares about, and share it with her family.
