A local bar in Mid-Michigan is recovering after a fire over the weekend just ahead of one of the industry's busiest days of the year. Ahead of all of their planned St. Patrick's Day festivities, Sherman's Irish Pub located in the Village of Vernon has is closed due to a weekend fire.

It happened Sunday, March 16th as fire departments and first responders from Shiawassee and adjacent counties were called in to assist with extinguishing the blaze on Main Street in Downtown Vernon.

Local media reports that despite the Irish Pub's bad luck just one day before St. Patrick's Day that they do plan to rebuild Sherman's. While still under investigation we are happy to report that no one was hurt in the fire.
