We also love our college rivalries. Whether you’re a Spartan or a Wolverine, the Michigan vs. Michigan State game will be on TVs and smartphones all over the state on October 25th. The game time is still TBD.

High School Football & Homecoming Traditions

But nothing beats heading out under the Friday night lights to watch your local high school football team take the field. What’s even more special are the annual homecoming games.

Homecoming Parades Across Genesee County

Every high school in Genesee County celebrates homecoming week, with festive themes each day during school. All local schools that we reached out to are also hosting a Homecoming parade the day of the game. Start times vary by district, with some parades in the morning, but the majority happening in the afternoon.

Local Homecoming Dances & Dates

Each district’s high school is also hosting a Homecoming dance. Many of the dances will happen immediately following the football games, but others are taking place the following day. All homecoming dance dates are set across Genesee County with the exception of Beecher. School officials said that the students are debating on whether they want the dance to be on Friday, October 3rd after the Homecoming game, or the next evening, Saturday, October 4th.
