The House Oversight Subcommittee on Corporate Subsidies and State Investments will hold hearings this week. Testimony is expected from local leaders, including Township Supervisor Jennifer Stainton, Manager Chad Young, and resident Don Ludwig.

Stainton has expressed mixed feelings — saying the cancellation preserves Mundy Township’s rural character but also stifles growth opportunities. Young, meanwhile, stressed that the township wasn’t pushing the deal but simply hosting the land.

Economic leaders aren’t giving up on the 1,200-acre site. Tyler Rossmaessler, executive director of the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance, said they remain committed to finding a new user, calling it “the best site in America” thanks to its location and workforce. He emphasized bipartisan support and job growth as the focus moving forward.
