Deadly Flint Crash Kills Man, Injures Infant

A tragedy happened early this morning in Genesee County. A man is dead and an infant is injured after a crash early Sunday morning at the intersection of Dupont Street and West Stewart Avenue in Flint.

According to Flint police, the crash happened around 12:32 a.m. when a white Buick Encore traveling eastbound on West Stewart collided with a white Hyundai Tucson traveling northbound on Dupont.

The Buick was being driven by an adult man. An infant boy was also inside the vehicle. Police said the man driving the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene. The infant was taken to a local hospital and was listed in good condition.

Flint Police Investigate Possible Impairment

The driver of the Hyundai, an adult woman, was also taken to a hospital and is listed in critical condition. Investigators have not yet determined which driver was responsible for the crash.

Police say preliminary findings indicate speed, alcohol and possible drug impairment may have contributed to the collision. According to ABC 12, the investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information to come forward.
