Flint Bishop Airport Launches AI Parking This October
Parking at Flint Bishop Airport is about to get a major upgrade. Starting October 1, 2025, FNT is teaming up with Metropolis, a company known for its checkout-free payment technology, to make parking a whole lot simpler. Think drive in, park, and drive out — no tickets, no slips, no lines.
AI Technology Installed Across FNT Parking
Metropolis is installing its artificial intelligence system across all of Bishop Airport's parking facilities. Travelers can prepare now by downloading the Metropolis app, registering a vehicle and payment method. They can also start enjoying perks like instant entry and exit notifications, digital receipts, and even discounts at participating businesses. If apps aren’t your thing, you can sign up by scanning QR codes posted around airport parking lots.
Parking Rates Stay the Same
The best part? Prices aren’t changing. Shuttle parking will remain $4 per hour, with a $10 daily max and $70 weekly max. Terminal parking stays at $4 an hour, $14 daily, and $98 weekly. Reservations and prepay options are still available at bishopairport.org/parking/bishop-airport-parking.

Airport CEO Nino Sapone said in a press release:
At Flint Bishop Airport, we’re committed to enhancing the passenger journey from start to finish. Our partnership with Metropolis brings cutting-edge technology to our parking facilities, creating a seamless, stress-free experience that begins the moment travelers arrive.
Translation: less time wrestling with ticket machines, more time grabbing coffee before your flight.
Flint Bishop Among First in Nation
Flint Bishop is the first airport in Michigan — and only the fifth nationwide — to introduce this parking tech, which debuted at San Antonio International Airport last year. Thanks to Metropolis’ 2024 acquisition of SP+, the company now powers mobility services at more than 80 airports nationwide.

With the rollout, Bishop is proving its motto: “Not the only way to fly. Just a better one.”
