FBI Director Confirms Halloween Threat Was Averted

The news came from FBI Director Kash Patel, who announced this morning (Oct. 31) that the bureau had thwarted a “potential terrorist attack” allegedly set to be carried out this weekend.

"This morning, the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend," Patel posted on X.

Agents Seen at Multiple Metro Detroit Locations

According to Fox 2 Detroit, federal agents were spotted at multiple locations in the Metro Detroit area. The news outlet also notes that evidence technicians were seen removing a computer and other items from a home on Horger Street in Dearborn.

Although Patel said multiple suspects were arrested, details of the alleged terror plot have not been released.

The FBI's national office released the following statement from FBI Director Kash Patel:

"Through swift action and close coordination with our local partners, a potential act of terror was stopped before it could unfold. The vigilance of this FBI prevented what could have been a tragic attack — and thanks to their dedication, Michigan will have a safe and happy Halloween."
