Dearborn Haunted Trail Brings Cryptids to Michigan Woods

Alright, Michigan Halloween season is starting to creep up on us, and one city is getting ready to unleash some serious nightmares in the woods.

Dearborn Haunted Trail Returns to Ford Field Park

Dearborn’s Haunted Trail is coming back to Ford Field Park for three nights in October, and this year’s theme is Creatures of the Woods. The haunted trail runs October 16th through the 18th, with the woods opening up at 7 p.m. each night.

Organizers promise terrifying cryptids and legendary creatures lurking along the trail, which sounds like a perfectly reasonable thing to do in the woods after dark. Absolutely not terrifying at all.

And if the regular haunted trail isn't scary enough for you, they’re also bringing back the Witching Hour, an intensified, adults-only version of the experience for guests 18 and older. Bring your ID, because apparently they need to make sure you’re legally old enough to be traumatized.

But there is a less terrifying option for families. Dearborn will offer a free sensory-friendly trick-or-treating event Friday evening before the trail opens. The Party Pavilion will also have food trucks, a live DJ, bonfires, cider, donuts and s’mores kits throughout the weekend.

How Much Are Dearborn Haunted Trail Tickets?

MLive reports that advance tickets for the haunted trail are 10 bucks, or 15 dollars if you wait until the day of the event. Just make sure you show up on time. Tickets are sold for specific dates and time slots, and organizers say arriving more than 10 minutes late could mean you don't get into the woods at all.

Honestly, if you're looking for a Michigan Halloween adventure, monsters, cryptids, bonfires and creepy woods sounds like a pretty solid way to kick off spooky season.
