Burton Neighborhood Terrorized By Mystery Michigander
How far would you go to self-manage traffic on your road or street? We've all seen those fake home-made speed limit signs that are painted, usually faded, and clearly posted by residents and not local officials.
Michigan Residents Frustrated With Neighborhood Traffic Disturbance
Someone in a Michigan community is trying to take matters into their own hands, resulting in furious residents and damaged vehicles.
It was a fairly quiet morning on the roadways of Genesee County. But at 6:31 a.m., Genesee County 911 reported a road hazard at the corner of Eagle Lane and Entrance Drive in Burton.
We've see things like couches, mattresses and ladders in the roadway. Not to mention all the escaped cows and horses that ended up on Michigan roadways.

But the description of this hazard really caught out attention. Someone called 911 to report that a neighbor has 'taken it upon himself' to impose a speed limit by 'putting random things in the road to slow down drivers'.
What's even crazier is what followed, 'Today there are large jugs in the intersection'. That means this is not the first time it's happened in that neighborhood, particularly at that intersection. This begs the question, if it was jugs today, what was it previously?
What Did Local Authorities Have To Say?
We reached out to Genesee County 911, and didn't get much help being able to link back to previous calls. We then tried contacting the City of Burton. A representative for the mayor said he had no idea about the situation.
We left a message with the Police Chief of the Burton Police Department, but have not yet heard back.
What Is Being Left In The Road?
I decided to go see if there was any evidence of this bizarre ordeal and when I pulled up to the intersection I was shocked with the pile of basically garbage that had been pushed to the side of the road.
The image above shows everything from pressure pumps to chemical jars that were moved there there from this morning. Not to mention the broken glass that was still all over the intersection. One resident was pulling in and had to go into the oncoming traffic lanes to avoid the debris.
What Do Burton Residents Have To Say?
But after speaking with an area resident who wishes to stay anonymous, this wasn't just today. For three or four months this has been going on. They've seen broken ceramic, porn magazines and DVDs, long screws and nails (which have popped more than 7 tires), and he said there was more glass there today than there has been.
