Red Lobster announced several closures today, Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, including one Michigan location.

In April 2024 we learned that the company was considering bankruptcy after substantial monetary losses due to the pandemic, labor costs, and all-you-can-eat shrimp.

Unfortunately, Red Lobster did indeed announce the closing of close to 50 locations. As mentioned above, only one Michigan location (as of now), was named.

What Michgian Red Lobster is closing?

Reports indicate, that Red Lobster in Fort Gratiot will be closing.

Equipment at all 48 closing Red Lobster locations will be auctioned off online on Thursday, May 16th, 2024.

This still leaves 26 Red Lobster locations in the Great Lakes State.

Will Red Lobster be announcing more closures? That is yet to be determined at this time. We certainly hope that that will not be the case for the sake of Red Lobster employees.
