Another Genesee County Bar is Closing Its Doors for Good

Here we go again. Another once-popular bar in Genesee County is closing its doors for good.

Earlier this month, we shared that Joe's Garage in Clio was closing its doors for good. Now, it looks like another bar in Clio is doing the same.

What started as nothing more than rumors on social media has now been confirmed that one of the area's favorite bars is closing.

The news first came about when someone questioned why the bar was closed at 2 p.m. in the middle of the week. That’s when people started talking about the possibility of a closure.

What Genesee County Bar is Closing Its Doors for Good?

After seeing our original post on Facebook about a possible closure, Mug Shotz on Saginaw Road in Clio confirmed that they are, in fact, closing.

Well, it’s time to acknowledge the bear in the room. We will be closing our beloved Bar….. Mug Shotz is for sale and we are moving on to our next adventure.

Mug Shotz will be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before closing for good.

Mug Shotz also confirmed that, while they will be shutting down the building, the food that many residents love will still be available via their food truck, Mug Shotz: Grilling on the Run.

We were hoping that this was nothing more than a rumor—the last thing we wanted to see was another Genesee County business go under.
