Michigan’s Adventure Cuts Season Short—Fall Plans Canceled
Well, you can go ahead and scratch Michigan’s Adventure off your fall to-do list because the popular Muskegon theme park is closing early this year.
Yes, that means the annual Tricks and Treats fall event won’t be happening.
And before you season pass holders freak out, yes, the park is offering something in return. However, depending on how you look at it, it may not seem like much.
According to MLive, instead of staying open through the fall and Halloween season, the company offered passholders one free ticket to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. In all honesty, their Halloweekends blow Tricks and Treats out of the water.
But I’m sure that doesn’t soften the blow for people in and around the Muskegon area. If they want to partake, they’ve got to make the long drive down to Sandusky.

The main reason they’re shutting down early this year is pretty simple. Tricks and Treats just wasn’t drawing enough people. As fun as it was, the fall event never really caught on or brought in enough visitors to make it worth keeping open.
A lot of folks on social media pointed out that weekends during Tricks and Treats were kind of dead. When hardly anyone shows up, it’s hard for the park to justify staying open with rides running and staff working.

This is probably something they should have thought about before selling season passes that were expected to be good through Halloween.
