Michigan Shoplifter Allegedly Hid Wine in Body Cavity
A Michigan woman accused of shoplifting was taken to the hospital following her arrest after allegedly concealing a bottle of wine inside her body.
Reports do not specify where the wine was concealed, but it was clearly hidden in one of two places. Ugh.
According to Up North Live, the incident reportedly occurred this past weekend at a Traverse City liquor store. The unidentified 48-year-old woman was allegedly seen drinking alcohol inside the store, then returned the following day and took a bottle of chardonnay.

Employees reportedly attempted to stop her but were unable to locate the bottle. Authorities were then called, and she was arrested; the New York Post reports the bottle was later recovered at the jail, allegedly concealed on her person.
Is this what they mean by 'prison wallet'?
The woman was then taken to an area hospital for treatment. She is facing smuggling (not kidding), trespassing, and retail fraud charges.
As noted above, the story has gained national attention, and people online have not been shy about sharing their reactions and comments.
One comment that stands out is someone asking whether this would be considered boxed wine.
It’s unclear whether her identity will ever be released, and honestly, we don’t really need to know it - best for her sake that it remains private.
I already can’t unsee this, and I’m not even 100% sure where the bottle was allegedly stashed. Now you’re probably stuck wondering too - and that’s a mental image nobody asked for.
