MI Ski Resort to Offer First 6-Person Bubble Chair in the Midwest
The Highlands at Harbor Springs is about to go high-tech with a new ski lift which is said to be the first of its kind in the entire Midwest.
Get ready, The Camelot 6 is coming to the long-running ski resort.

What is the Camelot 6?
The Camelot 6 is the Midwest's first and fastest six-person bubble chair. It's a ski lift chair that's shielded with weather-blocking bubbles to help protect you from wind and snow. The six-person bubble chair has cushioned seats that are heated and individual footrests.
The chair also has a fully automatic safety bar and a raisable loading carpet. It's also a lot faster and quieter than their current ski lift system.
Basically, it's a state-of-the-art ski lift that skiers are going to love.
Mike Chumbler, president, and general manager of The Highlands.
We’re coming full circle in lift innovation from the world’s first bubble chairlift in 1963, to the Midwest’s first modern bubble lift with unrivaled guest comfort, speed, energy efficiency, and safety in 2023. This will be the most kid-friendly and safest lift ever built.
When Will the Camelot 6 Be Up and Running?
According to MLive, The new Doppelmayr D-Line will be built on the southern end of the resort’s runs. Expected for the 2023/24 season - Camelot 6 will replace three current triple-place lifts: Camelot, Valley, and MacGully.
I'm not a big skier or snowboarder but I have a lot of friends that do both and they say this new system is a game changer. Maybe one day I'll learn how to ski and will tackle that Michigan Mountain.
