Terrifying news out of Lapeer County today, luckily no one was hurt.
The Holiday Inn Express Lapeer on Demille Road was robbed at gunpoint this morning, Thursday, February 16th. According to ABC 12, a white male wearing a puffy black coat approached the front desk at 3:35 AM with a handgun and demanded cash.
The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, thin, and roughly 20 to 30 years of age. The man was also said to be wearing athletic pants with tapered ankles and dark shoes with white markings. It is not known if the robber got away on foot or had a vehicle.
Officers from the Lapeer County Sheriff's Department and the Michigan State Police Department were called to the scene. A K-9 unit was also brought in, but unfortunately, there was no luck tracking down the suspect.
Police were able to review camera footage, so you know as well as I do, it is only a matter of time until this clown is caught.
