Lapeer County Woman in Disbelief After Winning $300K Scratch-Off

A Lapeer County woman is still in disbelief after recently winning a $300,000 jackpot from a scratch-off lottery ticket.

For some reason, it feels like more and more Michiganders are winning large jackpots from a variety of scratch-off games. It seems like every other day we're telling you about another big winner.

This time around, it was a 71-year-old Lapeer County woman who scored big after playing the Michigan Lottery’s Peppermint Payout instant game. The woman who chose to remain anonymous won a whopping $300,000 from the game.

The woman was understandably overcome with excitement and disbelief. She couldn't believe what was happening was real. The first thing she did was call her kids to tell them the amazing news.

I like playing the scratch-off tickets and I play them quite a bit. I scratched the ticket on the way home from the store, and when I saw I won $300,000, I just kept yelling: ‘This can’t be real!’ I felt like I was in a dream. I called my kids as soon as I got home to tell them the good news.

Where Did She Buy the Holiday Scratch-Off Ticket From?

The woman purchased the holiday scratch-off ticket from Kroger on South Main Street in Lapeer.

According to WDIV, with her winnings, she plans to pay bills, complete home improvements, and help those in need this holiday season.
