
A Popular Fair in Genesee County Canceled Indefinitely
We’ve seen an overwhelming number of retailers and restaurants close over the last few years in Genesee County. Well, now you can add popular fairs to the list, too.
While some of those business closures may have caught residents off guard, this announcement probably shouldn't.
It seems like every time a city tries to bring the community together with a fun, family-friendly event, a few rotten apples show up and ruin it for everyone. Well, that's pretty much the reason for Grand Blanc's recent announcement.
Grand Blanc’s Family Fun Fest Canceled
According to a Facebook post from the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce, Family Fun Fest is officially being retired. The event has been a longtime staple in the community, but that run is now coming to an end.

They weren’t specific about why the longtime fair is coming to an end, but they did mention that the safety and well-being of attendees have always been their top priority. That statement alone makes it pretty clear. They’re likely fed up with the fights and chaos that have started to take over events like this.
If you remember, in 2023, a bunch of people were arrested after a bunch of fights broke out. From what we heard, it was total chaos.
The folks behind the scenes poured their heart and soul into the event, but despite their best efforts, it seems the issues with safety and chaos became too much to overlook.
You can't blame the organizers; like I said earlier, it was a few bad apples that ruined it for everyone.
