12 Things You Can’t Bring Into the Genesee County Fair

The Genesee County Fair opened Monday, but if you haven’t made it out yet, don’t worry. There’s still plenty happening before everything wraps up Sunday night.

Whether you’re going for the rides, animals, food, or one of the grandstand events, there are a few things you’ll want to know before heading out. That’s especially true if you’re planning to spend any time in the grandstand.

What’s Still Happening at the Genesee County Fair?

According to the fair’s official schedule, Wednesday night features a rodeo, followed by Braxton Keith with Madison Olivia on Thursday. Chingy and Petey Pablo perform Friday, the Bump ‘N’ Run takes over Saturday, and Bull Mania closes things out Sunday.

Throughout the week, you’ll also find midway rides, a petting zoo, Pure Pro Wrestling, chainsaw carving, dock diving, livestock shows, exhibits, and plenty of contests. And of course, all the carnival food you can handle.

General admission is free for adults and children. Parking is free before noon and $10 per entry after noon.

What Can’t You Bring Into the Grandstand?

Before heading into one of the grandstand events, take a minute to look over the fair’s official prohibited-items policy. Some of the items make perfect sense, while others are things you could easily bring without thinking twice.

Just to be clear, the following restrictions are listed specifically under the fair’s grandstand arena rules. They do not necessarily apply across the entire fairgrounds.

There’s also a bag policy. Bags must be smaller than 6 by 8 by 2 inches, although exceptions are made for medical and diaper bags.
