Flint’s Soggy Bottom Bar Closes Indefinitely
There’s a pretty big bummer coming out of downtown Flint right now. Soggy Bottom Bar has announced its closing indefinitely, and everyone is shocked.
Soggy Bottom Bar announced this week on social media that it’s now closed indefinitely.
At first, they posted that they would only be closed for the day because of “unforeseen circumstances.” But then another update followed, saying the closure is now indefinite, with no reopening date mentioned.

Soggy Bottom wasn’t just another downtown bar. For a lot of people, it was just one of those regular spots you’d meet friends after work, grab burgers (awesome burgers) and drinks, or catch live music. It had its own vibe, and people loved it.
According to WNEM, the owner of Soggy Bottom Bar, 68-year-old Steven Tessmer, died suddenly on Wednesday. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends, and everyone connected to the downtown Flint staple.
