TA Travel Center Proposal Moves Forward in Fenton Township

Fenton Township may eventually be home to a TravelCenter of America location.

Often referred to as TA, TravelCenters of America locations are designed with truckers and travelers in mind and feature the following amenities,

• Fuel stations
• Convenience stores
• Restrooms
• Showers
• Laundry facilities
• Restaurants/Fast food

The proposed TA location is at 3340 West Thompson Road in Fenton Township.

The Tri-County Times recently reported the following regarding TravelCenters of America,

On Thursday, April 9, the Fenton Township Planning Commission voted 6-1 to approve a special use permit and preliminary site plan for an automobile service station with automobile repair facilities.

This would not be the first TA in Michigan, as there are already locations in the following cities:

• Ann Arbor
• Monroe
• Saginaw
• Battle Creek
• Tekonsha
• Sawyer

You may recall earlier this year, there was talk of a Love's Truck Stop potentially opening in Fenton Township, also along Thompson Road.
