Fenton Rest Stop Closing for Two Months – Here’s Why

The rest stop along northbound US-23 in Fenton will close next month for roughly two months.

When I first heard about the closure, I figured the building was getting an upgrade or something. Truth be told, I have never been inside the Fenton rest stop, so I really have no idea what kind of condition the building is in.

Nonetheless, the building is not the issue here.

According to ABC 12, the upcoming closure will allow crews to work on the water main connection at the rest stop. It may not be as glamorous or exciting as a remodel, but it’s obviously an important project that needs to be done.

While it might not be the most exciting improvement, having a working water main is obviously very important when it comes to a rest stop. I am sure you would agree.

When will the Fenton rest stop be closing?

The rest stop will close on Monday, September 21st, 2026, when the project begins. As mentioned above, the timeline is for a two-month closure. However, as we all know, with any construction job or repair work, hiccups can happen that may cause the project to take longer than expected.

The good news is, if you happen to be in the Fenton area and really have to 'go' there are plenty of restaurants and other places where you can make a quick pit stop.
