Exciting news for Michiganders! The NCAA has announced that the 2028 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Midwest Regional will be held at Little Caesars Arena on March 24 and 26, 2028. This adds to Detroit’s growing reputation as a prime location for collegiate athletics.

“It has been a historic year for Detroit,” said Dave Beachnau, Executive Director of the Detroit Sports Commission (DSC) said in their press release. Alongside this event, the city will also host the 2028 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, marking a significant first for Detroit.

Detroit’s success stems from its world-class venues and strong community collaboration. Little Caesars Arena has previously hosted sold-out NCAA events, drawing thousands of fans and creating unforgettable experiences. The upcoming Midwest Regional will be co-hosted by the DSC, Oakland University, and the University of Detroit Mercy.

With the NCAA Men's Final Four also set for 2027, Detroit is on track to become a hub for college sports. So, mark your calendars for March 24 and 26, 2028, as we welcome this thrilling tournament to the city.

With the rise of Detroit sports, and the growth of the city, I'm sure it will be as fabulous of an outing as it has been in the recent years. Based on the most recent NFL Draft, Detroit makes the best sporting event host (in my humble opinion).

And hopefully, your favorite teams will make the tourney!
