If there's a warning that police are being impersonated in the area, pay particular attention to the vehicle they're in, the model, and the condition, and follow some tips from this legal website:

• Turn on four-way hazard lights to notify the officer that the driver will pull over;

• Call 911 and ask the dispatcher to verify that it is an actual police officer.
