I spent seven years living out of state in places like Nebraska and Missouri and while it was fun exploring a new part of the country and a new way of life, I realized there was so much I left untouched back in my own home state of Michigan.

Now that I've been back in the Mitten for just over three year I've started picking up where I left off; even re-discovering some Pure Michigan gems that I previously took for granted like the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the Motown Museum in Detroit.

What about the fact we actually have mountains here in Michigan. Why didn't anyone ever point that out to me before?! And that's only the tip of the iceberg.
