Meet Michigan’s Worst Cop Who Keeps Getting Hired
One Michigan cop keeps moving from job to job and leaving scandal after scandal behind but departments keep hiring Michigan's worst cop.
Meet Officer Mark Aldrich
When you work at one job, sometimes you look for a better opportunity in the field you specialize in. It's something that many Michiganders do to better themselves and their families, but that's not the case for Officer Mark Alrich.
Aldrich has worked in 4 different police departments in Michigan and at each job he has left after multiple scandals and yet there seems to be a department that will still hire him. So far Aldrich has had jobs with the Bellville Police Department, Carleton Police Department, Huron Township Department, and the Lake Orion Police Department. Aldrich was recently put on administrative leave at the Lake Orion Police Department but remains an employee.

The Scandals of Officer Mark Aldrich
It is mind-blowing how many scandals Officer Mark Alrich has been involved in at every department he has worked at, let's take a look below at some of his "Low-Lights."
While working at the Belleville Police Department, Aldrich did what started as a good deed to help a needy family but turned into some "extra income." Aldrich claimed he received a vehicle from a towing company to donate to a needy family but listed the vehicle on eBay instead. Now that takes some cojones right there. This along with other controversies at Belleville he was asked to resign.
After no mention of Aldrich's past at Belleville, he was highly recommended and hired for a job at Huron Township Police Department. What? It didn't take long at Huron Township for a scandal involving Aldrich and an exotic dancer he pulled over and arrested for OWI and possession of marijuana. While the woman's charges were still pending he would meet with her at her job for lap dances and oral sex. He then got accused of harassing the woman via text and then lied about everything. This led to his resigning from Huron Township.
Aldrich then moved on to the Carleton Police Department and in no time at all, he had multiple complaints from residents about his anger, road rage, an illegal traffic stop and just being dishonest. There was also a body cam issue after receiving lots of complaints and one of the videos from a complaint had been deleted which Aldrich denied. Once again resulting in Aldrich resigning.
According to WXYZ, Aldrich got hired at the Lake Orion Police Department but his past actions caught up with him and his new chief of police Todd Stanfield. When a chief hires a new officer he or she is supposed to check with the Michigan Commission of Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) but Stanfield said he checked this when he did not do a complete background investigation of Aldrich. Standfield has since been demoted to lieutenant. Now that the scandals have been put in the public eye Aldrich has been put on administrative leave, and now his police license is inactive status in Michigan which means he cannot get another job until MCOLES returns him to active status.
