‘Iron Man 3′ Hits DVD and Blu-Ray in September With a ‘Thor 2′ Preview
Now that 'Iron Man 3' has officially passed the $400 million mark at the box office, Tony Stark's third solo adventure is just about to leave theaters and head straight to your home media collection. In a few months, you'll be able to purchase Shane Black's delightful superhero adventure for yourself on DVD and Blu-ray, but will it be worth it? Marvel has released the details of the package to help you decide if the special features will push this one into the "must buy" column for you.
For those who have yet to join the high-definition revolution, the standard DVD of 'Iron Man 3' will contain two special features: "Deconstructing The Scene: Attack On Air Force One" and "Exclusive Behind-The-Scenes Look – Marvel’s 'Thor: The Dark World.'"
However, the Blu-ray is a little more stacked and has a few features that make this disc look like a must-own. They are as follows:
- Deconstructing The Scene: Attack On Air Force One
- Exclusive Behind-The-Scenes Look – Marvel’s 'Thor: The Dark World'
- Marvel’s 'Iron Man 3 Unmasked'
- Gag Reel
- Deleted & Extended Scenes
- Audio Commentary—With Drew Pearce & Shane Black
So, in addition to the features from the DVD version, the Blu-ray will contain another featurette and bunch of other fun goodies. Gag reels tend to be fun and deleted scenes are always interesting, but the really exciting thing on this disc is the audio commentary with director/co-writer Shane Black and co-writer Drew Pearce, two guys who are nothing if not natural raconteurs. Listening to these two chat about the movie should be a blast.
'Iron Man 3' will hit shelves on Sep. 24.
