Grand Blanc Schools Looking To Add Much Needed Staff At Hiring Event
Schools everywhere are dealing with a massive teacher shortage, and Grand Blanc is hoping to get some much needed help.
Grand Blanc Schools are holding a massive hiring event today in hopes to get their current staff some help. The hiring event happens Wednesday, October 27th from 4pm to 7pm at the Perry Center. They are encouraging anyone looking for full or part time work to apply because they need much more than just teaching positions.
Grand Blanc has adopted the "Be A Light" campaign as a way to encourage people to join their team. The Facebook event gives a brief rundown of the positions needed.
Grand Blanc Community Schools has multiple positions to fill, including bus drivers, para pros and substitute teachers, dining services, custodial, and security!
Districts everywhere have been struggling with staffing issues this school year. The teacher shortage is the most obvious problem, but the lack of staff extends to all areas of the school. Many schools are in desperate need of everyone from bus drivers, classroom assistants.
The problem isn't just confined to high schools in Michigan though, as can be seen by Michigan State asking professors to work in the dining halls.
I know first hand how the teacher shortage is impacting the teachers that are on the job right now. I have family members that are teachers, and the stories of having to cover classrooms instead of eating lunch or having a prep period, are becoming commonplace.
If you are interested in working at Grand Blanc, or at any Genesee Intermediate School District buildings, you can find a list of open positions here.
