Republican U.S. Senate candidate Gary Glenn suspended his campaign last night and threw his support behind Clark Durant. The announcement came around 10:30 p.m.

The Durant campaign thanked Glenn for his support and said they are eager to work closely with him and his "formidable" grass roots campaign. According to the release, Glenn and his army of volunteers generated the endorsement of 41 Tea-Party groups, and collected 27,227 signatures in all 83 counties of Michigan.

The news release also said that Michigan Conservatives are now unified to challenge establishment politicians like Pete Hoekstra and Debbie Stabenow.

The August 7 primary will decide which Republican will take on Senator Stabenow in the November election.
