GAC Gold, a program of Genesys Athletic Club for seniors, is hosting a Lunch and Learn today at noon on meeting your nutritional needs as you age.

According to Genesys, seniors have very different nutritional needs than kids and even middle age adults. Age-related changes can affect how the body processes food, which influences your dietary needs and appetite. A healthy diet packed with vital nutrients can help ward off potential health problems that are common in seniors, such as diabetes, high blood pressure heart problems and high cholesterol. Christina Schumann, registered dietitian at GAC, will also share information on how to help seniors learn to eat healthier as they age.

Cost for the Lunch and Learn is $6 for Genesys Athletic Club members and $10 for non-members. It's offered twice a month and takes place at GAC which is located on the Genesys Regional Medical Center - Health Park campus in Grand Blanc Township.
