Flint Public Art Project Needs Our Help to Continue Making Flint Beautiful

The Flint Public Art Project has exceeded this year's mural goals, but have fallen a bit short on their fundraising target and are running out of time.

Have you seen any beautiful new artwork on buildings around Flint lately? Chances are that The Flint Public Art Project was behind it. The initiative began earlier this year with the goals of getting 50 murals completed by the fall. As of today, they are already at 70 and are aiming for a stretch goal of 100, which is pretty impressive.

As they reach the end of this year's work, they are already looking toward next year. They are raising funds to ensure that next year will be even better than this year, but are running out of time on a major chunk of funding. If they hit their fundraising goal by the end of this month -- the Michigan Economic Development Corporation will match the $15,000 goal. That's awesome, but currently, they're about $4,800 short and have just 6 days left.

The Flint Public Art Project's work for the season will conclude with the completion of the 100th mural for the Free City Mural Festival, which happens on October 12th at various locations on the south side of Flint.
