Families will soon be able to watch movies on the Flint City Hall lawn.

Flint Movies Under the Stars opens up the back lawn of Flint City Hall for families to enjoy a movie together. Don't get too excited yet though, because the first movie is already sold out. On Friday, July 16th, organizers will show "Tom & Jerry" to the sold-out crowd starting at dusk.

Even though the first movie night is sold-out, families can still get tickets for the next movie night on Saturday, August 21st. On that particular night, parents can treat their kids to a showing of "Raya and the Last Dragon." While it is a free event, you must get your tickets in advance. Click here to get yours.

Movies Under the Stars at Flint City Hall will feature games and activities for all ages as well as free snacks. For those that have preregistered, be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets.

Communities First, Inc., is the organizer of this family-friendly event and ask that those coming to the movies be dressed appropriately and follow the rules:

  • No cursing or foul language
  • No smoking of any kind (cigarettes, juuls, vapes, etc...)
  • No alcohol
  • No weapons
  • No soliciting, campaigning, or petitioning
  • All children must be supervised at all times

It seems like every day there is something new in Flint for families to enjoy. After the last year, the more events like this, the better if you ask me. So get out of the house and take the kids to a movie under the stars.
