The Flint Public Library will be one of just six cities in to host this year's "Great Michigan Read" author, Kevin Boyle, according to Mlive. Boyle will be heading out to discuss his new book, Arc of Justice: A Saga of Civil Rights and Murder in the Jazz Age, which is set in Michigan between 1925-26.

The book follows Dr. Ossian Sweet,an African American physician, who finds himself charged with murder after defending his home in an all white neighborhood in 1925-26 Detroit. What follows helps lay the foundation for the civil rights movement and equal housing laws.

Boyle will give his presentation for "The Great Michigan Read" at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday October 26 at the Flint Public Library. There will also be a Meet the Author Forum for teens and college students earlier in the day at 10:15 a.m.
