* UPDATE * The Flint Firebirds organization has rehired its entire coaching staff less than 24 hours after players walked out. Sources say head coach John Gruden has been reinstated, and signed to a three-year contract.

The Flint Firebirds organization has seen its first bloodbath, and it was not on the ice.

Following Sunday (11/08) night's game, head coach John Gruden and the entire Flint Firebirds coaching staff was fired. OHL Insiders.com, ESPN, and WJRT are reporting that the entire 24-man team then "went upstairs, threw their jerseys on the ground, and walked out."

Some reports say the shakeup may have had something to do with owner Rolf Nilsen's 17-year-old son Hakon Nilsen not getting enough ice time.

The ironic thing is, the Flint Firebirds won Sunday's game, topping the Oshawa Generals, 4-3.
