The team was initially suspended on December 17th when eleven members of the Flint Firebirds organization tested positive for Covid. The Ontario Hockey League had previously incorporated specific COVID-19 protocols including mandatory vaccination for all members of the OHL Community including players, staff, officials, and billets.

Your Flint Firebirds will close out 2021 with a game against the Saginaw Spirit this Wednesday at 7:00 PM and the team will take on the Windsor Spitfires on Friday, December 31st at 7:30 PM. The New Year's Eve game is away. Tickets however are still available for this Wednesday's home game.

The Flint Firebirds would love to have you in the arena on Wednesday to cheer them on as they fight for their 4th straight win in the I-75 Divide Cup sponsored by Coors Light. This is a really big deal for the team, and I for one am confident they will win. It has been a year full of ups and downs for the team, and they continue to play strong. Having fans in the stands really does make a difference.

If you are not too hungover from your New Year's Eve celebration, the Flint Firebirds are playing in Saginaw on Saturday, January 1st. Now that is a fun way to spend New Year's Day - plus there is beer so a little hair of the dog may certainly help.

Here is to our Flint Firebirds closing out 2021 with wins and kicking off 2022 with a victory too! Go Firebirds.
