Flint Firebirds’ Annual Teddy Bear Toss And Family Fun Day
Get the family ready for a great weekend of hockey at Dort Federal Event Center with the Flint Firebirds.
Coming up on Saturday, the Flint Firebirds are set to host the Erie Otters for a 7 p.m. game at Dort Federal Event Center. It is also the Firebirds' fourth-annual Teddy Bear Toss that night. If you are heading to the game, be sure to bring a new or gently used teddy bear, or stuffed animal, and wait for your chance to hurl it out onto the ice. When the Firebirds score their first goal, the teddy bear launching begins. All of the teddy bears collected from the ice will be donated to local charities throughout Flint and Genesee County. Last year, over 1,000 stuffed animals were launched on to the ice. Just remember to wrap your stuffed animal in a plastic bag so it doesn't get soaked on the ice.
On Sunday, it's Family Sunday "FUN"day as the Firebirds take on the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Game time is 2 p.m. but get there early for all the festivities. The family can enjoy pictures with Santa, along with real reindeer, and a DIY ornament design station. Since it's Family "Fun"day, you will get two free kids tickets with every adult ticket purchased, along with a post-game "skate with Firebirds players."
