The 8th annual Flint Film Festival takes place this weekend and the independent film, Alleged, will premier at the festival on Saturday night.

Alleged was filmed entirely in Flint with a large majority of the scenes shot at Crossroads Village. It stars Colm Meany, Fred Dalton Thompson, and Brian Dennehy and is the true story of conflicts that boiled over at the historic Scopes Trial in 1925 that debated the right to teach the evolution of mankind in public schools. Aside from a few of the lead actors and crew, all others cast members and crew reside in Michigan. The films director Tom Hines and writer/producer Fred Foote will be on hand afterwards for a Q&A.

The screening begins at 9 p.m. followed by the Q&A, the festival's awards celebration, and after party. For a complete schedule of the films go to www.theflintfilmfestival.com or call (810) 237-FILM.
