Fenton Police Department Offers Safe Haven for Online Selling
The Fenton Chief of Police posted to Facebook last Friday that the police department would offer a safe place to conduct transactions made through sites like Craigslist.
With all of the stories from around the country about crimes being committed against people who use online selling sites such as Craigslist, it's no wonder that people are wary about using them. Hell, I won't even allow my wife to sell stuff to people unless I'm home! Now, the Fenton Police Department has listened to concerns, and are offering an alternative meeting place.
The post says that, while they cannot mediate or sign documents for transactions, they can offer a safe place to conduct sales made through online sites, either in their lobby or in the parking lot. Here's the post; do you think it will help with peace-of-mind? I think it's a great idea!
