Genesys Athletic Club (GAC) will sponsor the 12th annual Dash for a Difference run/walk Saturday, Sept. 29 on the grounds of Genesys Regional Medical Center's Health Park campus in Grand Blanc Township.

Proceeds from the event go to Genesys Hospice patients and families who need financial assistance. This can include uncovered medical expenses, transportation fees, clothing, eyeglasses and other other needs patients and families may encounter.

Dash for a Difference includes these races:

5K run - start time 10 am

5K walk - start time 10:05 am

Kids one mile fitness run - start time 10:45 am

Kids quarter mile indoor fitness run (on the track of GAC) - start time 11:10 am

 

Registration opens at 8:30 am.

 

Cost of the races is as follows:

Early registration (deadline Sept. 14)

$20 (with a t-shirt), $15 without a t-shirt

$35 (with a long-sleeved wicking shirt)

The kids' races are $10 each with a t-shirt (cost is the same for early or late registration). Awards are given to the overall race winners, and to the first Masters male and female finishers as well as the top three finishers in each division.

Participants in the kids' races receive a finisher's medal.

The course winds through the 478 acres of the Genesys Health Park campus with much of the course on the paved, scenic nature trails.

Child care is available for children ages 2 to 10 in the Genesys Athletic Club child care facility.

Swartz Ambulance serves as the race sponsor.
