You've probably heard stories throughout the years of coaches going above and beyond for their team members in need. I coached for years and often helped out a team member when needed. It was those little things like money for lunch and rides home, but Coach Jim Harbaugh just took that type of coaching to a whole new level.

Harbaugh, who became head coach for the University of Michigan football team in 2015, has been pretty outspoken on his thoughts against abortion. In the past few weeks, he has let his stance on the subject known regarding the subject noting that being a Catholic that his "faith and my science are what drives these beliefs in me.”

Although he isn't the first coach to put their beliefs out there on the subject of unplanned pregnancies, he may be one of the first to put an interesting offer out there. In an interview Harbaugh did recently with ESPN’s Gene Wojciechowski he stated that in the event of an unplanned pregnancy in his family or football program, he’d be open to raising the child.

According to WDIV, Harbaugh pretty much spelled out the offer during the chat with Wojciechowski saying,

“I’ve told [them] the same thing I tell my kids, boys, the girls, same thing I tell our players, our staff members,” Harbaugh said. “I encourage them if they have a pregnancy that wasn’t planned, to go through with it, go through with it. Let that unborn child be born, and if at that time, you don’t feel like you can care for it, you don’t have the means or the wherewithal, then Sarah and I will take that baby.”

Not your traditional offer from a coach. Comments have been mixed on social media since the interview aired.

By the way, Coach Jim Harbaugh already has 7 children.
