Crime Stoppers of Mid-Michigan announced a new mobile app that will help residents take action to keep their communities safer.

The P3Tips app was announced recently, and it will allow people to submit pictures, videos, or documents anonymously from their phone.

The process is similar to how tips are taken now, with extra emphasis on keeping the tipsters identity secret.  Once a tip is submitted, then the person will receive a TIP ID and a password.  Once they are logged in, they can chat with someone from Crime Stoppers and be notified of any reward that may be coming.

The app is available for free download right now, and of course people can still use the traditional 1-800-422-JAIL number to contact crime stoppers.
