City of Flint Announces New Chief Financial Officer

At a news conference on Monday, the City of Flint introduced a new Chief Financial Officer. Jody Lundquist was appointed by City Administrator Natasha Henderson and started her employment on Monday.

According to a news release from the city, Lundquist comes to Flint from Benton Harbor where she worked as Finance Director and Treasurer. Until recently, Benton Harbor was also a financially distressed community. The news release goes on to say Lunquist "instituted a variety of internal controls, policies and procedures, and financial planning practices that did not exist before her tenure."

Lunquist graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in agribusiness and holds a post-baccalaureate certificate of accountancy.
