Campus Den Stores File for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
The chain has 16 stores throughout Michigan, including one in Flint Township at the mall.
Campus Den, the Mt. Morris-based college apparel store that houses quite a few locations throughout Michigan, has filed for bankruptcy.
There are stores in Mt. Morris Twp, Flint Township, Birch Run and Saginaw. Court documents indicate that their sales dropped over a million dollars between 2017 and 2018. The chain closed ten stores just last year.
No word on the Genesee Valley Center location closing, though. Chapter 11 would allow the company to restructure and renegotiate their debt.
Here's a thought - maybe college-team and sports apparel in general is just priced too high. You shouldn't have to budget $70 for a sweatshirt for your favorite team, IMO.
