19-Year-Old Flint Man Gets Life With No Parole For Meat Shop Murder
The 19-year-old murdered the Stanley's Meat Market owner in 2015.
A Flint judge has sentenced Jawone Laquan Watkins on Tuesday to life in prison without parole.
On September 22nd, 2015, Flint police arrived on the scene of East Flint Park Boulevard at Stanley's Meat Market to find the 66-year-old owner George Assaf dead inside his store.
The 12-person jury also found the Watkins guilty of armed robbery, felony firearm, and concealed weapon.
Michigan state law requires life in prison without parole for anyone convicted of felony murder.
