What Lara Logan and Malala Yousufzai Can Teach Scarlett Johansson About the War on Women
Scarlett Johansson would like you to believe that Mitt Romney represents a real danger to women. She, as well as Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria shot a video for MoveOn.org warning women about the threat a Romney Presidency would pose.
Lara Logan and Malala Yousufzai tell of a real threat. Malala Yousufzai is the 14 year old Pakistani girl who’s shattered skull is being rebuilt in a hospital in Great Britain after she was pulled off a bus and shot in the head by the Taliban because she wrote about their brutality after taking over the Swat Valley, where she lives.
Lara Logan is chief foreign correspondent for CBS News, contributor to 60 Minutes, and an incredible journalist. I’ve posted the video of her amazing keynote address at the BGA Luncheon. Below is a transcribed comment, as well as a condensed version of that video:
“Our way of life is under attack, and if you think that’s government propaganda, if you think that’s nonsense, if you think that’s war mongering, you’re not listening to what the people who are fighting you say about this fight. In your arrogance you think you write the script, but you don’t.”
