The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is reminding motorists in Genesee County of two work projects this weekend that will impact drivers:

  • On Saturday, there will be maintenance done on the I-475 bridge over Atherton Street in Flint. Beginning at 7 a.m. crews will close the center and right lanes of I-475 in each direction. The left lanes in both directions will remain open until noon. Crews will then switch sides, reopen the center and right lanes and close down the left lane. This will be in effect until work is completed at 4 p.m.
  • On Sunday, there will be a routine inspection of the CN Railroad bridge over I-75 just south if the I-75 and I-69 interchange.  Beginning at 6:30 a.m. crews will close the southbound I-75 center and right hand lanes. The left lane will remain open and ramps from I-69 to I-75 will remain open. At 9 a.m. crews will reopen all southbound I-75 lanes and move to the northbound side. Crews will then do the same closures on the northbound side. Work is expected to be completed by the early afternoon.
